Anti-aging and longevity
Not recommended
Naproxen is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). It is taken short-term for acute pain, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, migraine, and dysmenorrhea (AEMPS Ficha Técnica). In anti-aging regimens, naproxen is taken as a universal anti-inflammatory for age-related joint pain. Regular use in healthy adults without an inflammatory disease is not justified: the Bhala 2013 meta-analysis (CNT collaboration) showed naproxen has the lowest cardiovascular risk among NSAIDs, but gastrointestinal risks (bleeding, perforation) persist and rise with duration of use. Regular use also raises the risk of hypertension and acute kidney injury. If naproxen is being taken daily for inflammation prophylaxis, consider seeking a second opinion; the basis of age-related joint pain management is weight control, exercise, and physiotherapy.
