Chronic fatigue
Not recommended
Duloxetine is an SNRI antidepressant. It is prescribed for major depression, generalized anxiety disorder, diabetic peripheral neuropathy, and fibromyalgia ( 2022, NG222). For ordinary chronic fatigue without a confirmed diagnosis, duloxetine is not indicated. The drug has serious risks: nausea (common, up to 25%), sexual dysfunction, elevated blood pressure, hepatotoxicity, discontinuation syndrome on abrupt stopping, and increased suicide risk in young people ( boxed warning). If duloxetine was prescribed for fatigue, consider seeking a second opinion.
