Anti-aging and longevity

Carvedilol is a nonselective β-adrenergic blocker with additional α1-blocking activity. It is prescribed for heart failure, after myocardial infarction, and for hypertension ( 2023, SEH-LELHA, 2017). In anti-aging regimens, carvedilol is positioned as a combined α/β-blocker for anti-aging of the vascular system in healthy normotensives. In people with normal blood pressure and no heart failure, no clinical studies of prophylactic use exist. The drug causes pronounced orthostatic hypotension (especially at start of treatment, with fall risk in older adults), bradycardia, fatigue, and hypoglycemia in patients with diabetes. If carvedilol was prescribed to a healthy person, consider seeking a second opinion.
